Why Steel Cucine?

Steel Cucine was founded in 1999, built on more than a century of family expertise supplying professional catering kitchens across Italy. That heritage shapes every appliance the company makes: rather than adapting commercial cooking technology down to domestic scale as an afterthought, Steel Cucine builds range cookers with professional performance as the starting point, then designs around how a home kitchen actually gets used.

Where are Steel Cucine cookers made?

Every Steel Cucine range cooker is designed and built by hand in Carpi, near Bologna, Italy — a region with a long-standing reputation for professional catering equipment manufacturing. Nothing is outsourced or assembled from imported components; the company oversees the full build process in-house.

What makes Steel Cucine different?

Three details set Steel Cucine's construction apart from typical range cookers: every joint is welded rather than bolted or riveted, every burner is solid brass rather than a lighter alloy, and every oven is tested to professional catering standard before it leaves the factory. Combi-steam ovens come as standard across the range — a feature many competing brands treat as a costly optional extra — alongside the patented INNVENT even-heat system, which maintains consistent oven temperature across every shelf.

Induction vs dual fuel: which is right for you?

Steel Cucine offers both across most collections. Dual fuel pairs gas burners with an electric oven, giving instant, visual flame control on the hob alongside even electric heat for baking and roasting. Induction heats faster, responds instantly despite being fully electric, and is significantly easier to keep clean, since there are no burner grates to remove and scrub. Several models, including Genesi and Ascot, are available in both configurations, so the choice comes down to cooking style rather than a trade-off in build quality.

The case for a steam oven

Combi-steam ovens — standard across Steel Cucine's range — combine conventional heat with injected steam, which keeps food moister during cooking, improves results for bread and pastry, and better preserves nutrients in vegetables and fish compared with dry heat alone. It's a feature more commonly associated with professional kitchens than domestic ones — precisely the gap Steel Cucine is built to close.

How does Steel Cucine compare to other premium brands?

Like Lacanche and ILVE, Steel Cucine represents a family-run manufacturing tradition rather than mass production, and shares the same commitment to handbuilt construction. Where Steel Cucine differentiates itself is in including combi-steam ovens as standard across the range — not universal at this price point — and in its specific heritage in professional catering equipment. As with any premium purchase, the right choice comes down to specific models, sizing, and design language rather than brand alone, and we'd always recommend comparing them in person.

Available sizes and collections

Steel Cucine's UK range spans four collections. Ascot combines professional performance with a classic Italian aesthetic across 70–120cm. Genesi is the brand's most advanced range, sharing Ascot's engineering with 37 preset recipes and a more contemporary design, also 70–120cm. Enfasi is built for a seamless, furniture-integrated kitchen, with a cooktop that sits flush at 40mm — level with a standard worktop — across 90–100cm. Oxford offers a bolder design language with decorative hinges and exclusive nickel or bronze finishes, at 90–100cm.
