About the Ranges
What is the difference between Genesi, Ascot, Enfasi and Oxford?
All four are premium Italian range cookers by Steel Cucine, but each has a distinct character. Genesi is the flagship — it features a combi-steam oven with 15 cooking functions, TFT colour programmer and 37 preset recipes. Ascot shares the combi-steam technology in a more traditional, heritage-inspired design with 4 metal trim finish options. Enfasi has a cleaner, contemporary aesthetic with a slimmer profile and multifunction oven. Oxford is the most distinctive — with decorative hinges, black backsplash and coordinated black details that give it an unmistakable character no other range has.
What does Dual Fuel mean?
Dual Fuel means the cooker has a gas hob and electric ovens. This is the most popular configuration for range cookers in the UK — you get the instant control and responsiveness of gas cooking on the hob, combined with the even, consistent results of electric ovens.
What is the difference between combi-steam and multifunction ovens?
A combi-steam oven (found on Genesi and Ascot) adds steam to the multifunction oven modes — this means you can roast, bake and steam all in one cavity, resulting in juicier meat, better bread, and healthier cooking. It reaches 315°C and includes a dedicated steam-clean function. A multifunction oven (found on Enfasi and Oxford) offers standard electric cooking modes without steam, typically reaching 265–315°C depending on the model.
What is the Pulse range?
The Pulse range is the entry-level version of each line (Genesi Pulse and Ascot Pulse). It uses a multifunction electric oven (rather than combi-steam) and a simplified 6-button digital programmer instead of the TFT colour display. It still uses the same premium brass hob burners and shares the same design aesthetic — just with a more accessible price point.
About the Ovens
What does the INNVENT system do?
INNVENT is Steel's patented dual-fan ventilation system, available on the Genesi 90 cm and 120 cm models. It uses two fans rotating in opposite directions to distribute heat evenly both vertically between shelf levels and horizontally across each shelf. This means you can cook on multiple levels simultaneously without rotating trays or needing to open the door.
What is the difference between a single, double and triple oven?
A single oven gives you one large cooking cavity. A double oven adds a second independent cavity (usually a smaller traditional electric oven or pizza/grill oven running alongside the main oven). A triple oven adds a third cavity — typically a dedicated pizza and grill oven capable of reaching 315°C for authentic pizza in minutes, ideal for those who cook a lot of bread, pizza or pastry.
What is included as standard with the ovens?
All range cookers and built-in ovens include wire shelves, an enamelled deep tray, and a rotisserie. Combi-steam models also include telescopic liners, a water brick for the steam function, and a meat probe for temperature-controlled cooking. Pizza and grill ovens include a pizza stone base and slice as standard.
About the Hobs
What is Mixed Hob?
Mixed Hob combines brass gas burners with a dual-zone electric cooking surface — either an electric frytop (for searing, frying and teppanyaki-style cooking) or an electric barbecue plate (for grilling). Each electric zone is independently controlled, so you can use the full surface or just one half.
What is All-Flex Induction?
All-Flex Induction (found on Oxford and Enfasi Mistral models) means every single induction zone is fully flexible — adapting to any pan size or shape. Standard induction hobs typically have 2 flexible zones; all-flex models have 4, making them the most versatile induction option.
Why are brass burners better than standard burners?
Steel Cucine's brass gas burners are 60% more efficient than standard aluminium burners found on most range cookers. They distribute heat more evenly, are more durable, and respond more precisely to temperature changes.
About the Colours & Finishes
What colours are available?
Most ranges are available in Stainless Steel, Black, Anthracite, Cream, Burgundy, Beige, Ivory, Light Blue and Lavender as standard. Custom RAL colours are also available on request. The Enfasi All Black range and Oxford range are available in Nero Fumo (a distinctive charcoal-black finish).
What are the metal trim finishes on Ascot?
Ascot range cookers, hobs and accessories are available in four metal trim finishes — Chrome, Brass, Bronze and Nickel — applied to the knobs, handles and decorative details. These can be mixed with any body colour to create a fully personalised look.
What is the difference between Nero Fumo on Enfasi and Oxford?
Great question — despite sharing the same Italian name, they are different colours. On the Enfasi All Black range, Nero Fumo is a true jet-black finish across the entire cooker. On the Oxford range, Nero Fumo is a deep charcoal anthracite, which is the standard/default colour for the Oxford line.
Can I order a custom RAL colour?
Yes. All Steel Cucine range cookers, hoods and accessories can be ordered in any RAL Classic colour on request.
About the Mistral Range
What is the Oxford Mistral?
The Oxford Mistral is an all-in-one range cooker with a built-in integrated extractor hood. The hood uses a high-performance brushless motor delivering 700 m³/h of extraction at a maximum of 63 dB, controlled by slide switches on the hob top. It means you don't need a separate chimney hood above the cooker.
What is the Enfasi Mistral?
The Enfasi Mistral is the all-in-one version of the Enfasi range — featuring four all-flex induction zones and one or two electric ovens with a built-in integrated extractor. Like the Oxford Mistral, it eliminates the need for a separate hood.
About the Modular Kitchen System
Can I buy matching kitchen units to go with my range cooker?
Yes. Steel Cucine offers a complete modular kitchen system for all four ranges — including worktables, wall units, sink units, column units for built-in ovens, dishwashers, fridge freezers and wine cellars — all finished to match the range cooker in your chosen colour and metal trim.
What built-in ovens are available to match my range cooker?
Each range has matching built-in ovens in 60×60, 60×90 (double oven tower), 90×60 and 60×45 (pizza/grill oven) formats, designed to integrate seamlessly alongside a matching hob or cook unit.
About the Fitting & Dimensions
What size space do I need for a 90 cm range cooker?
You need a minimum of 90 cm width in your kitchen alcove. The depth is typically 60 cm, and heights vary slightly by range — plan for approximately 90 cm of clearance above the hob surface to the underside of the hood.
Do I need a special electrical connection?
Yes — all range cookers require a dedicated electrical supply (typically 32A or more depending on the model). A Gas Safe registered engineer is also required for the gas connection. We recommend consulting your kitchen installer or a qualified tradesperson before ordering.
What is the minimum distance required above the hob to the hood?
Steel recommends a minimum of 65–70 cm between the hob surface and the bottom of the hood for gas hobs, and 50–55 cm for induction hobs. Always check the specific installation guide for your model.
